An Introduction to Spiritualism

What is a Spiritualist Church?

A Spiritualist Centre or Church is where larger numbers of people can gather, and where spiritualism or communication with spirit is practised, usually holding divine services and inviting guest speakers and mediums to pass on the teachings of spirit, and to give evidence from those who have gone to the spirit world.

The practice of spiritualism is not confined to churches, it can be practised anywhere, at work, in a coffee break, in the home, or in a park, spiritualism is a way of life, and spiritualists strive to live by seven simple principles.

The Seven Principles of Spiritualism

  1. The Fatherhood of God.
  2. The Brotherhood of Man.
  3. The Communion of Spirits and the Ministry of Angels.
  4. The Continuous Existence of the Human Soul.
  5. Personal Responsibility.
  6. Compensation and Retribution Hereafter for all the Good and Evil Deeds done on Earth.
  7. Eternal Progress Open to every Human Soul.

Most Spiritualist Centres have regular Divine Services and times when healing is given. Hyms are often sung (but not always), and prayers similar to the Lords Prayer are said.

Many mediums working at spiritualist churches bring through messages from the spirit world, particularly loved ones who have passed over to members of the audience.  They usually take no fee other than a contribution towards their travelling costs.

There is nothing complicated about Spiritualism, surprisingly most Spiritualist Centres have a mix of people practising their own faith, simply put, Spiritualists believe that there is one God (or whatever your interpretation of that is); we embrace different beliefs, as we all end up in spirit when we pass-on to the higher side of life.

Furthermore, most centres offer self development opportunities, your local centre will be happy to discuss their program.
